Stay safe on Techno Ads

Every ad is checked by our team and every phone number is verified by SMS, but please stay alert when dealing with people you don't know.

Buying

  • Meet the seller in a safe, public place, ideally during the day.
  • Inspect the item thoroughly before paying. For vehicles, check the documents and engine and chassis numbers, and consider a mechanic's inspection.
  • Never pay in advance, send a deposit to hold an item, or pay for delivery to a stranger.
  • Be wary of prices far below the market. They're the most common sign of a scam.

Selling

  • Only hand over the item once you've received the full payment. Confirm bank transfers in your own banking app, not from a screenshot.
  • Don't share bank logins, card details or OTP codes with anyone.
  • Bring someone with you when meeting buyers, especially for high-value items.

Everyone

  • Techno Ads will never ask for your password or an OTP code by phone, SMS, WhatsApp or email.
  • Keep conversations to calls or WhatsApp with the number shown on the ad.
  • If something feels wrong, walk away and use “Report this ad”. If you've been cheated, contact the police.
